You're all about the detail and this role will allow you to drive evidence-based decision making to optimise systems and efficiency, not just for the business but for our customers too. It's data and research with impact you can see.

In this role, you'll:

Be responsible for defining and monitoring the technical controls that underpin the safe, ethical, and compliant use of AI systems across Transport for NSW. This role delivers three critical technical foundations for AI governance: defining technical controls that establish standards and guardrails for AI systems; tooling selection/setup for AI lifecycle management including model/agent monitoring, use case registration, and risk assessment platforms; and reference architecture development that provides technical blueprints and patterns for compliant AI implementation.

Working closely with the Senior Manager Data Management, this role identifies and establishes tooling for AI lifecycle management, including model/agent monitoring and use case registration and risk assessment. In partnership with various Technology and Architecture stakeholders, this role develops reference architecture, security and data protection patterns, and evaluation/testing processes to ensure AI systems meet NSW and international standards. This position plays a critical role in embedding proportionate and practical technical guidelines and assurance into the AI Governance Framework, ensuring that controls are aligned with frameworks such as AIAF, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001/23894.

This role is not responsible for delivery or operational implementation of other business AI use case solutions or projects only provide advisory and review.
