Objective of Job:
Lead and develop the data-driven backbone of our factory-planning organization, delivering robust ad-hoc analyses, exploratory dashboards, and predictive insights that steer complex production projects. Ensure alignment with customer requirements, timelines, and budgets while driving analytical excellence, proactive risk management, and cross-functional collaboration across global stakeholders (Germany/China).
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Modelling
• Perform ad-hoc analyses in SAP BW/HANA to uncover root-cause patterns (e.g., order cancellations, defect clusters).
• Build, deploy, and maintain dashboards and forecasting models that visualize performance trends and predict capacity, cost, and risk.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for planners, engineers, and senior management.
2. Planning & Coordination
• Integrate data-driven insights into production-planning workflows; validate concepts against historical benchmarks and predictive models.
• Support bottom-up budget and resource calculations through statistical modelling and scenario analysis.
• Ensure all planning outputs comply with customer requirements and technical specifications.
3. Stakeholder & Supplier Management
• Serve as the single point of contact for factory-planning analytics during early-phase discussions with WPLs, TPLs, and internal teams in Germany and China.
• Escalate critical data-derived risks to senior management and initiate corrective task forces when thresholds are breached.
4. Process & Standards
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, analytics standards, and reporting templates within the joint-venture environment.
• Define and track KPIs to monitor planning performance (e.g., on-time delivery, budget adherence) and model accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement in risk-assessment and decision-making processes through automation and machine-learning pilots.
5. Reporting & Governance
• Prepare concise executive reports on analytical findings, project status, and financial outlook.
• Present evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership, supporting key investment and scheduling decisions.
Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable quantitative field
Experience
• 5 + years professional experience in advanced analytics, business intelligence, or data-science projects within manufacturing/automotive environments, with a strong focus on planning and project steering
• 2 + years leading data-driven teams (preferably cross-cultural, Germany/China)
Specific Knowledge
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Deep expertise in data extraction and modelling with Python, Pandas, SQL, and SAP BW/HANA; strong grasp of statistical modelling and foundational machine-learning techniques
• Experienced in project management and KPI-driven reporting for production or supply-chain processes
• Proficient with Power BI and standard MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; basic German preferred
• Proven intercultural competence and success in international work or study settings
