We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist – Business Analyst to join an innovative data lab focused on advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions within the mobility and public works domain.
In this role, you will help design, develop, and operationalise AI and data science solutions that generate actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate complex business needs into scalable AI and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse complex data streams and identify valuable business insights
Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and AI solutions into production
Build predictive models using advanced ML and deep learning techniques
Develop and optimise databases, queries, and data pipelines
Translate business questions into technical and data requirements
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define scope, requirements, and success criteria
Create intuitive visualisations and reports for business users
Support AI prototyping and experimentation initiatives
Develop AI-powered interfaces and solutions for internal services
Lead or support innovative and complex data-driven projects
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Required Experience & Skills
Strong experience with deep learning and neural networks (preferably PyTorch and JAX)
Experience with Generative AI, RAG architectures, and Agentic AI products
Experience deploying GenAI products into production environments
Experience creating UI interfaces for AI services using:
Azure AI Foundry
Reflex.dev
JavaScript / CSS
Tailwind CSS
Next.js
AI prototyping tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar
Minimum 8 years' experience with:
Database optimisation and query tuning
Data flow analysis
Stakeholder communication
ML modelling and predictive analytics
Data manipulation and processing
Strong expertise in:
Statistics
Time series forecasting
Computer Vision
Scikit-learn
OpenCV
Pandas
NumPy
SciPy
ETL processing
Dutch proficiency at CEFR C2 level
Nice to Have
Experience with Azure ML, Databricks, Spark, Jupyter Notebooks, and DuckDB
Experience with data visualisation tools and libraries such as Altair, Matplotlib, and KeplerGL
Experience in mobility or transportation-related data science projects
Experience with SQL and Oracle databases
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl
Experience leading teams in innovative technical projects
Experience translating modelling outcomes into business value
