Role Purpose
To maintain and develop advanced data science solutions to help Marketing & Communications achieve its strategic and commercial objectives. The role will focus on applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical techniques to deliver actionable insights and innovative products.

Role Accountabilities
Data Science Delivery and Innovation
Develop and deploy advanced machine learning models and statistical analyses to solve complex business challenges. Prepare, clean, and manipulate large datasets for analysis and modelling, and lead experiments to test hypotheses that improve product or service performance. Ensure that all models and analytical outputs comply with data ethics, governance, and privacy standards.
Data Engineering and Solution Implementation
Collaborate with data engineers to build scalable data pipelines that support modelling and reporting. Work closely with product teams to integrate data science solutions into operational workflows, ensuring models are robust, scalable, and deliver measurable business value.
Business Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
Translate business requirements into well-defined data science problems with clear success metrics. Communicate analytical findings, insights, and recommendations effectively to a wide range of stakeholders, including non-technical audiences, to support evidence-based decision-making.
Leadership, Collaboration and Professional Contribution
Build data science capability across teams by mentoring colleagues, sharing best practices, and promoting high standards of analytical delivery. Contribute to the British Council's data science community and represent the organisation externally where appropriate, supporting collaboration and the advancement of data science practice.
