Qnity is a global leader in specialty materials that enable advanced electronic devices and semiconductor manufacturing. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science, AI, and Digital Solutions team supporting our Cheonan manufacturing site.

In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across manufacturing, quality, engineering, operations, supply chain, and business teams to solve real-world challenges using data science, machine learning, computer vision, and digital technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with site stakeholders to identify business challenges and improvement opportunities.

  • Apply data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, and AI techniques to solve operational and manufacturing problems.

  • Analyze manufacturing, quality, equipment, process, image, and business data to generate insights and recommendations.

  • Develop and validate predictive models, analytical tools, dashboards, and proof-of-concept solutions.

  • Support computer vision and image analytics applications for inspection and quality improvement.

  • Collaborate with digital, software, and data engineering teams to deploy and scale solutions.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.

  • Experience applying data science, machine learning, statistics, or advanced analytics through academic research, internships, industry projects, or professional work.

  • Proficiency in Python or R.

  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including data preparation, model development, validation, and performance evaluation.

  • Strong foundation in statistics and data analysis.

  • Basic SQL skills and experience working with structured datasets.

  • Korean and English communication skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly, solve problems, and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, chemical, materials, engineering, or industrial environments.

  • Experience with computer vision, image analytics, or inspection-related applications.

  • Knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience working with operational systems and data sources such as MES, LIMS, SCADA, Historian, or SAP.

  • Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, cloud platforms, MLOps, or data engineering concepts.

  • Experience improving quality, yield, equipment reliability, operational efficiency, or production performance through data-driven approaches.

  • Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, copilots, or workflow automation solutions.
