LOCATION: Full-time onsite in Chantilly, VA

We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong analytical and technical skills to support data‑driven decision‑making and product development. The ideal candidate will have recent experience with Python and SQL, and proficiency in Power BI—note that Tableau is not an acceptable substitute for this position.

Key Responsibilities

In this challenging yet rewarding role, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
  • Working with Power BI (Tableau is not an acceptable substitute for this position).
  • Recent experience with Python and SQL.
  • Ability to build lightweight web applications when a traditional dashboard is not the most effective method for presenting or interacting with data.
  • Engaging in day-to-day technical execution.
  • Experience in two or more of the following disciplines: business analytics, statistics, data verification and validation, and data visualization.
  • Applying qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods to business or intelligence problems.
  • Transforming, manipulating, and combining data using a programming language such as Python or using a data preparation tool.
  • Using Excel.
  • Conveying technical concepts to nontechnical audiences both verbally and in written analytic reports.
  • Creating data visualization mockups, prototypes of visualizations, documenting work processes, and effectively demonstrating products to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interpreting data models and working with a variety of data sources and structures.
  • Translating customer requirements into project or system specifications.
  • Self-starter with the ability to decompose ambiguous problems into actionable plans.

Highly Desired Qualifications

Other skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include:
  • Working with data derived from technical missions, taskings, collection, processing, analysis, or dissemination.
  • Working with Sponsor business or mission data, Sponsor applications, or Sponsor database structures.
  • Using GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • Using Python or R.
  • DESIRED: Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Information Systems or 4 years of relevant data analysis experience with the IC or military may substitute in lieu of a degree.
