Data Scientist Services - Managed Services
Position Purpose
Design, operationalise, and continuously improve scalable, data driven managed services and reporting solutions for enterprise customers, with a primary focus on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, ensuring reliable, repeatable, and governed analytics services.

Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver Microsoft Fabric and Power BI solutions (Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Real-Time Analytics) that meet agreed requirements for performance, scalability and supportability[NP1.1].
Implement scalable data models and semantic layers that standardise definitions and enable consistent reporting across customer stakeholders.
Enable both real-time and batch analytics capabilities aligned to priority customer use cases, with clear acceptance criteria and operational handover.
Define and maintain standard data models and measurement frameworks that enable automated ingestion, calculation and reporting from nominated customer system sources (e.g., ITSM), reducing custom build effort across customers.
Design reusable service components (datasets, semantic models, report templates, runbooks) that can be deployed across multiple customers with minimal rework.
Execute and continuously improve daily, weekly and monthly run activities to maintain service reliability, data quality and reporting accuracy, including:
Monitoring, triage and optimisation of data pipelines
Dataset refresh management and performance tuning
Reporting validation and proactive stakeholder engagement
Cost, capacity and usage optimisation
Deliver automation that reduces manual effort, improves consistency and increases deployment confidence, using:
Microsoft Fabric pipelines, Dataflows Gen2 and notebooks
Power BI deployment pipelines
Azure-native automation (Logic Apps, Functions, DevOps pipelines)
Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices for data environments to support repeatable builds, controlled releases and auditability.
Define and communicate clear in-scope vs out-of-scope boundaries for managed analytics services to support consistent delivery and change control.
Implement and maintain governance controls across data platforms to meet agreed security and compliance requirements, including:
Access control and role-based access (RBAC)
Data lineage, auditability and operational documentation
Alignment with security baselines and platform standards
Identify, record and reduce operational and data risks through proactive monitoring, issue management and continuous improvement actions.
Design or contribute to a control plane for multi customer data management.
Additional Responsibilities
a. Uphold and adhere to Data#3's core values, guidelines, policies and procedures.
b. Represent Data#3 in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
c. You are required to perform your duties safely without risk to your own health and safety or the health and safety of others.
d. You are required to be flexible to work in additional roles or capacities or take on additional or varied duties, as may be assigned to you, that you are skilled and capable of performing.
Data#3 may alter your position, position description, position title, location and responsibilities in accordance with changing business needs and priorities.
As part of your position, in addition to (c) above, you:
may be required to perform your duties off-site, including at customer, vendor/partner and supplier sites, which require, as a condition of entry, you to hold a National Police Certificate;
may be responsible for accessing internal and third party computer systems containing highly sensitive confidential corporate and personal information;
may be engaged in capacities that require Data#3 to have the highest degree of confidence that you will perform your duties with a high level of honesty and integrity.
Accordingly, the satisfactory completion of a National Police Certificate is an inherent requirement of your position.
