The Data Scientist is involved in conducting clinical studies, integrating, and interpreting massive healthcare and molecular data from internal and external sources, and is instrumental in transforming complex data into impactful insights. The Data Scientist candidate possesses an extensive background in healthcare data analysis, including familiarity with real-world Electronic Health Records (EHR) and multi-omics data, coding skills using diverse toolsets, successful management experience in a dynamic team environment, and is highly goal-oriented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analysis of real-world EHR data and high-throughput molecular/omic data (genomic, gene expression, lipidomic, metabolomic, proteomics data sets), and participation in assisting clinical data interpretation and generating content for clinical study reports
  • Interaction with internal and external collaborators to understand, design, and develop analytical solutions for complex data packages, including, but not limited to, quality assessment of data as well as utilization of several statistical packages to assess translational utility
  • Design and development of data analysis protocols to support the company's drug discovery pipeline and facilitate precision medicine strategies for clinical development
  • Interpretation and understanding of analytic results from a biology perspective, and presentation of scientific findings internally and externally to a diverse audience
  • Research and implementation of innovative methods for data integration
  • Preparation and submission of scientific manuscripts for review and publication, as well as support intellectual property filings
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 4+ years of direct related experience.
  • Must have experience in the biotech/pharma industry
  • Experience with Real-World Data offerings from major data brokers (e.g., EHR, claims).
  • Proficiency in R/Bioconductor, Linux, and major “Big Data” technologies
  • Experience in Scala, C, Python, and MySQL is a plus but not required
  • Proven ability to successfully integrate, mentor, and communicate in a dynamic team environment toward defined goals and timelines
  • Proven ability to independently find creative and practical solutions to complex problems
  • Proven experience in applying Data Science methodologies to extract, process, and transform structured and unstructured datasets
  • Proven ability to deliver outputs in a comprehensive format that highlights major trends, avoids misinterpretations, and values the conclusions
    • Proven ability to demonstrate attention to detail and record-keeping
    • Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects in parallel
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment
