Data Scientist | Financial Services

Our client, a well-established and global financial services company is now hiring for a Data Scientist.

The role will work closely with the senior management team and will be an integral part of the expanding Data Science function. You will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting large datasets, developing predictive models, and communicating findings to drive innovation and strategy.

The Role

• Develop data modelling, mining, pattern analysis, data visualisation and machine learning solutions to solve business problems.
• Collaborate with the wider business to support the execution of the data science strategy.
• Lead and drive analytical projects through to delivery and embed into the business.
• Deliver compelling insights to influence decisions and roadmaps.
• Develop and implement machine learning models to address specific business problems.
• Represent the analytics function on projects and lead stakeholder engagement for product development.
• Present insights and concepts to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Work across the organisation with a range of stakeholders to maximise the benefit of data science throughout the business.

The Person

• Masters or PhD in a relevant subject
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models
• Demonstrable experience using data science and advanced analytics to generate business value
• Proven experience in machine learning, data mining and statistical modelling
• Proficiency with R, Python, SQL, Power BI, QlikView, Tableau
• Knowledge of project management methodologies
• Strong communication skills and experience presenting to key stakeholders
