MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our Data and AI Practice onsite in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement data science capabilities to achieve client mission goals. You will collaborate with a team of data analysts, data engineers, and data architects to leverage AI, data science, data analytics, and data architecture to deliver client solutions. The ideal candidate will have solid data science skills, a firm understanding of data analytics, and a client-oriented approach to applying technology to develop mission-ready data products that accelerate operational decision-making, enhance situational awareness, and improve mission effectiveness.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and deploying machine learning and AI models to analyze complex datasets (including sensor, intelligence, and biometric data) to forecast adversary trends, identify potential risks, and optimize logistics, force design, and strategic planning.
  • Conduct statistical analysis, data mining, and modeling to derive valuable, data-driven insights and real-time recommendations for decision-making.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI to effectively communicate program performance, KPIs, and complex data trends to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant Data Scientist experience.
  • Experience developing predictive models including regression, classification, or time-series forecasting
  • Experience developing and implementing data-driven solutions in data science, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python with pandas, scikit-learn, R, SQL) and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract insights and identify patterns, trends, and correlations from complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts, and experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with time-series analysis or signal processing, specifically related to sensor data.
  • Familiarity with biometric data standards and identity intelligence workflows. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Advana or Palantir Foundry).
  • Experience supporting DoD programs. Relevant certifications in data science or data analytics.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess a current and active TS with SCI Eligibility.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
