Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a fully cleared Data Scientist who possesses a strong understanding of various data complexities and has experience managing data backlogs, analyzing the data, and recognizing anomalies. We’re looking for someone who is forward leaning and able to work in a high-visibility environment. Data management skills and a familiarity with data policy and procedures are necessary.

In this role you will work in a unit which provides data management support for a large, high-visibility Area Of Responsibility (AOR). Our client requires support in all aspects of the data management lifecycle, with a focus on advancing data management tasks, tracking data lifecycle processes, and implementation of the client’s rules and regulations. While the client’s project manager will manage priorities, you will work closely and coordinate with other units. In this role you will:

  • Perform duties both independently and within a team environment,
  • Utilize your skills in metadata and data management, to include; cataloging, data ingestion, and data sharing,
  • Utilize your strong interpersonal skills to work with other units,
  • Identify and catalog datasets relevant to the AOR and track datasets through their lifecycle, cataloging datasets and records of varying volume, content, and structure following client requirements, standard operations procedures, and best practices, and provide ad hoc reports from the data catalog on specific topics requested by client.
  • Monitor data submissions and track through the ingestion lifecycle, monitor data submissions and track through data ingestion lifecycle, coordinate with the client and system teams to troubleshoot data management and ingestion issues, and provide support and advice to the client for data submissions.
  • Create and/or support the creation of workflows, visuals, and briefing materials for presentations as requested by the client, participate in regular meetings under the direction of the client, coordinate with the client to adjust data management priorities as needed, and provide support to the client’s organization for data sharing with other organizations.
  • Support the client’s data compliance objectives by monitoring, tracking, and updating email groups and the training status of stakeholders, and coordinate with the client to ensure all data handling decisions are tracked in enterprise data catalog.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience using required processes to move data between systems or networks
  • Demonstrated experience cataloging datasets
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as a team
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with officers at multiple levels of seniority, including technical and non-technical officers
  • Demonstrated experience understanding and communicating information about data, including data characterizations such as type, size, and other metadata
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance
  • Demonstrated experience using graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data
  • Demonstrated experience developing presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings for internal teams and external clients

  • Demonstrated experience working with the client’s enterprise data catalog
  • Demonstrated experience working with data and information with unique security concerns
  • Demonstrated experience applying organizational skills to complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience working through required processes to move data between the client organization and other organizations
  • Experience conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design
  • Experience creating appropriate documentation for stakeholders to effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
