About the role - you will:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data science, working alongside experienced professionals on real-world projects. As a Data Science Intern, you will assist in data analysis, model development, and the generation of actionable insights that support business objectives.

About you:

• Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets from various sources.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop and implement basic machine learning models and algorithms under the guidance of senior data scientists.
• Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
• Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and continuous learning activities.

Your experience includes:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of data science principles and machine learning concepts.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass transportation to work.
