Data Science Assistant – eDiscovery Support

About De Brauw

De Brauw is a leading Dutch law firm with a strong international practice. We support our clients wherever it matters most, whether that is in Amsterdam or on the other side of the world. Our lawyers, civil-law notaries and tax advisers provide the highest quality of advice on complex, often cross-border legal matters.

For over 150 years, we have combined legal depth with strategic insight and a commitment to society. Innovation, substance and development are central to everything we do — in our services and in our people. That is why we are always looking for new talent.

What drives us? The ambition to think ahead and grow together. We are one team, with room for different perspectives and for everyone's contribution. That is why we continue to invest in development: in our people, our organisation and our profession.

About the role

As a Data Assistant, you will be part of our eDiscovery & Investigations team within the Legal Operations department — a multidisciplinary team that works closely with lawyers and clients to support and improve legal processes. You will be responsible for data handling and technical process support on eDiscovery and investigations projects, under the guidance of experienced specialists.

De Brauw's eDiscovery team offers a great opportunity for anyone with an eye for detail, a problem-solving mindset and an eagerness to learn more about the day-to-day workings of an internationally oriented law firm.

What will you do?

  • Managing and processing data for eDiscovery and investigations projects.
  • Conducting document searches and data investigative analyses.
  • Providing technical process support within ongoing investigations.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve data-related workflows and actively contributing ideas.
  • Collaborating with the eDiscovery & Investigations team on a variety of assignments for different clients.

Who are you?

You are flexible, stress-resistant and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You have a keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset.

You also bring:

  • A background in technical or analytical studies, such as Business Analytics, Data Science or Computer Forensics.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and/or English.
  • A meticulous and detail-oriented working style, ideally with relevant experience.
  • Availability of two days per week, with working days scheduled in agreement with you.
  • Confidence with Excel and the ability to quickly pick up new digital tools and platforms.
  • Previous knowledge of database management is a plus.

What do we offer?

At De Brauw, you will work in a stimulating and internationally oriented environment where technology and legal services come together. We offer:

  • A unique insight into the day-to-day practice of a leading international law firm.
  • Hands-on experience with eDiscovery, data analysis and legal investigations processes.
  • Guidance from an experienced and multidisciplinary team of specialists.
  • Flexible working days, scheduled in agreement based on your availability.
