Data Quality Assurance Specialist / Test Specialist (Machine Learning)

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 1 July 2026 – 31 July 2027
Workload: 80% (Approx. 4 days per week)
Remote Work: Hybrid (Minimum 1 day per week on-site)

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Quality Assurance Specialist / Test Specialist to join an innovative team responsible for developing and maintaining a web-based platform that supports cost engineering and pricing for large-scale infrastructure projects.

The platform consolidates data from multiple sources, requiring extensive data structuring, cleansing, enrichment, validation, and testing before it is made available to end users. The data preparation process is highly automated, but still requires human expertise to establish relationships, monitor quality, validate outputs, and perform testing activities.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with AI-assisted data extraction processes while ensuring the highest standards of data quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate documents for AI-driven and manual data extraction.
• Test and verify data processing workflows and applications.
• Clean, structure, and enrich unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Perform data validation and quality assurance activities.
• Monitor automated processes and identify inconsistencies.
• Work closely with development and project teams to ensure data accuracy and application reliability.
• Apply formal testing methodologies and best practices.
• Document findings and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Test Specialist working on small business-critical or larger non-business-critical applications.
• Experience working within public sector environments.
• Proven experience processing and managing unstructured data.
• Strong background in data management and data validation.
• Experience with formal testing methods and techniques.
• Working knowledge of ITIL principles.
• Hands-on experience with Jira.
• Fluent Dutch language skills ( CEFR C2 level).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of functional testing.
• Experience with specialized testing suites and tools.
• Strong communication skills with experience working in collaborative project teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted data extraction or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

Team & Environment

You will work within a multidisciplinary team consisting of technical specialists, database experts, application developers, and fellow testing professionals. The role involves close collaboration with project coordinators and development teams, with the majority of activities focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of a critical data platform.
