Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Associate Vice President (AVP) to lead and advance our technology-driven data analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of how to leverage tools like Python and Tableau to drive insights, ensure data quality, and navigate a complex regulatory landscape. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience with comprehensive understanding of metrics production who can apply critical thinking to solve complex business problems, understand the nuances of internal audit (IA) and regulatory requirements, and champion a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance business processes, risk management, and internal audit functions.
  • Tool Development & Automation: Lead the design, development, and implementation of custom tools and automated solutions using Python to streamline data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Utilize Tableau to create compelling, intuitive, and insightful dashboards and reports for senior management and other stakeholders, effectively communicating complex data stories.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Establish and enforce robust data quality standards and governance frameworks. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all data used for analysis and reporting.
  • Regulatory & IA Compliance: Serve as a subject matter expert on the regulatory and internal audit implications of data analytics activities. Ensure all processes and tools are compliant with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Critical Analysis: Apply advanced critical thinking and analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the business.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and guide a team of analysts and developers, fostering their technical and professional growth.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Internal Audit, Compliance, and various business units, to understand their needs and deliver impactful solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a technology, data analytics, or internal audit role within a regulated industry.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and formulate effective solutions.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data quality principles, and best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of metrics production, internal audit processes and the

regulatory environment impacting financial institutions or a similar large-scale enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and statistical analysis
  • Advanced skills in Tableau for creating complex and interactive data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Experience working with large datasets and enterprise data warehousing solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
