Job Description

Sisk are growing their legal team with the addition of a Data Protection Specialist to join our team and assist the Data Protection Manager in ensuring our organisation's compliance with data protection laws and regulations. Candidate to play a crucial role in safeguarding personal data and maintaining the trust of our clients and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Policy and Procedure Implementation: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with regulations like GDPR and the AI Act.
  • Data Subject Rights: Handle and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs), requests for rectification, erasure, and other data subject rights inquiries.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct and assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs) for new projects and initiatives.
  • Data Inventory and Mapping: Support the maintenance of our data inventory and data flow maps, ensuring an accurate record of personal data processing activities (ROPA).
  • Training and Awareness: Help develop and deliver data protection training and awareness programs to employees across the organization.
  • Incident Response: Support the Data Protection Manager in managing and responding to data breaches and other security incidents, including documentation and reporting to relevant authorities if required.

Experience

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a data protection, privacy, or governance or compliance role with potential on the job learning.
  • Strong understanding of global data protection laws and frameworks, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • You will have familiarity with technology and IT Security.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, to analyse evolving regulatory development across the various jurisdictions Sisk operates in.
  • You should have strong organisational, and communication skills.
  • You should be detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic and actionable advice to business in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience advising on multiple complex projects in parallel, including prioritizing and working alongside cross-functional teams where you have considered multiple, occasionally differing, commercial requirement.

Qualifications

Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPTare highly desirable.
