Data Protection Manager EMEA (m/w/d)

This position is available at the following locations:

Leipzig, Poing (Munich), Belgrad, Krakau, or Leeds

Role & Responsibilities

As a Data Protection Manager, you will play an active role in the operational implementation and continuous development of Avnet`s Data Protection Management System across the EMEA region.

Acting as a central point of contact for data protection matters, you will ensure the consistent implementation of GDPR requirements, governance structures, and operational data protection processes across multiple countries and business functions in EMEA. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Independently performing and managing
  • Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
  • Data Protection Assessments (DPAs)
  • Transfer Risk Assessments (TRAs)
  • Maintenance and further development of Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs) in Avnet’s Compliance Tool OneTrust
  • Negotiation and management of Data Processing Agreements and Joint Controller agreements
  • Supporting the handling of Data Subject Rights Requests (DSRs), including coordination with internal stakeholders (e.g. HR, IT)
  • Supporting the assessment, documentation, and management of Data Breaches and Incidents
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the EMEA-wide Data Protection Management System (e.g. processes, standards, templates)
  • Advising business functions (e.g. HR, IT, Sales) on day-to-day data protection inquiries
  • Cooperating closely with internal Data Protection Coordinators, IT, Compliance, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting internal Data Protection Training and awareness initiatives across the organization
  • Supporting AI-related initiatives and helping ensure compliance with data protection requirements

Your Profile

  • University degree in
  • Law, Business Administration, Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable field
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in data protection, ideally in an international or corporate environment
  • Solid knowledge of the GDPR and practical experience with Data Protection processes
  • Hands-on experience with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Protection Assessments (DPAs), Transfer Risk Assessments (TRAs), Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs), Data Subject Rights Requests (DSRs), and Data Breach handling
  • A legal background is desirable but not required – the role is explicitly open to
  • IT-focused profiles
  • Business or process-oriented professionals with data protection expertise
  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into pragmatic, business-oriented solutions
  • Strong communication skills in German and English required
  • Knowledge with Data Protection Management tools (e.g. OneTrust) is a plus
