Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Data Management Product Lead to join our Infomediary Data Solutions organization.

The Data Management Product Lead is responsible for working with the Infomediary Data Solutions team to create and implement projects supporting the Data Services product road map. S/he will help ensure that the project design meets the goals and objectives of the project, satisfies all aspects of the project scope, and aligns with the overall Data Services strategy. The Data Management Product Lead is the architect of project design, responsible for managing definition and documentation of requirements, and ensuring integrity throughout all phases of the project life cycle and managing changes as required. The Data Management Product Lead will also work closely with new data services clients to ensure our data services solutions are configured to meet or exceed client expectations.

Core Responsibilities include:

Leadership and Staff Supervision

  • Understand competencies required for successful job performance and use knowledge to coach and develop team members as well as to identify training needs.

Project Management

  • Assist Data Solutions Leadership, project team, and business sponsor in defining scope and planning project tasks
  • Support the Data Solutions Leadership team in ensuring that all participants understand the objectives of the project and work together toward a common goal.
  • Manage the collection and documentation of business requirements, ensuring that requirements meet all facets of the project scope
  • Provide sign off on all Business Requirements Documents submitted to the Data Services Program Manager.
  • Manage the documentation of Change Requests, provide estimates of the effort required to collect business requirements for a change request and manage the collection of business requirements for approved change requests.
  • Support the creation of a design solution that satisfies the business requirements, aligns with the project scope, and meets the goals and objectives
  • Ensure that all phases of testing, including user acceptance testing, regression testing, client testing and parallel/pilot testing, validate that development meets the specifications of requirements and design and satisfies the project scope.
  • Assist Data Services Program Manager in providing project and portfolio status reporting and analysis to senior leadership

Client Experience

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the data services product roadmap
  • Support BBH client data strategy by executing project related opportunities that improve data services products for an overall enhancement of the client experience
  • Understand the changing business needs and how it impacts the overall project and recommend solutions.
  • Deliver well thought out recommendations to Stakeholders, Steering Committees, Project Sponsors; implement action plan to achieve required results.
  • Provide an enhanced client experience by anticipating client needs related to the project by initiating and recommending actions that will lead to the successful completion of the project
  • Actively manage stakeholder expectations. Provide consistent updates, address, and resolve problems directly with stakeholders in order to manage their delivery expectations.

Analysis

  • Perform analysis on required data attributes to create data solutions
  • Coordinate with product areas and Systems teams to understand required data attributes for data services efforts
  • Determine how changing business needs will affect data services product map; clearly articulate the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence
  • Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise, including technical knowledge of associated systems
  • Design creative solutions that meet the goals and objectives of the project and align with product strategy
  • Perform impact analysis to ensure all potential risks are addressed and all cross-product and cross-system impacts are identified and resolved
  • Assist in resolution of the critical issues that may derail a project, provide solutions that demonstrate strong understanding of the product strategy and technical construct
  • Ensure best practices are being applied across all phases of the project
  • Participate in post project reviews and document lessons learned

Candidate Qualifications include:

  • BA/BS degree, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years supervisory experience a plus
  • 10+ years related work experience. Financial services industry knowledge and experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of the key roles assumed by Custodians, Fund Accountants, Fund Administrators, and Transfer Agents preferred
  • Experience applying project management principles, practices, tools and techniques, including business case development, ROI analysis, planning, scope and issues management, budgeting, and facilitation
  • Proficiency using windows-based applications, including MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Experienced in SQL and reporting tools is a plus
  • Creative and effective problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to recognize one's own strengths and limitations, taking appropriate initiative to pursue development activities and seek assistance as needed
  • Proactive and results-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and with clarity, with ability to negotiate
  • Consultative and advisory skills with ability to work and communicate professionally with internal and external clients
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations
