We are looking for a Maintenance & Operations Support Engineer with strong systems engineering skills and proven experience in Earth Observation (EO) data processing to support our customer, EUMETSAT.
Investigate, identify, and fix application software and/or configuration anomalies.
Implement new software requirements and actively contribute to ARBs, SRBs, and CRBs.
Contribute to software and hardware deployment, verification, and validation (SWETs/HWETs).
Build, install, and validate new software releases and patches on development, reference, and operational chains.
Contribute to system-level engineering of mission payload data processing systems and support impact analysis for PDP and processor evolutions.
Set up and maintain a Test Suite within the Automated Test Environment (ATE).
Maintain system models in Enterprise Architect and requirements in DOORS.
Contribute to technical baseline documentation (ADD, ICD, STB) and Confluence procedures.
Provide cross-training to SGS Data Processing and System Applications Competence Area members.
Participate in facility, sub-system, and system-level reviews, milestone meetings, and joint meetings with external partner organizations (ESA, EC, etc.).
Provide additional engineering support to other EUMETSAT teams (e.g., SYS/MME) as required.
University degree or equivalent in a relevant science or technical discipline.
Proven experience in data processing (L0/L1/L2) of Earth Observation (EO) or meteorological satellite products.
Experience in integration, verification, and validation (IVV) of data processing systems, including test plans and end-to-end processing chains.
Proficiency in scripting languages and databases (Python, Perl, shell, PostgreSQL).
Experience in system engineering and system design, alongside hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken) with strong communication skills.
Ability to produce accurate and consistent technical documentation under configuration control practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a high degree of autonomy and interpersonal awareness.
Knowledge of IT, network, and computer security principles.
Knowledge of spacecraft and/or ground segment operations or familiarity with operational procedures and configuration data management.
Programming experience in C/C++, Java, or IDL.
Experience in quality control, calibration, and validation.
Knowledge of ECSS standards.
Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
Knowledge of MBSE and tools such as SysML and Enterprise Architect.
