About the Job

We’re looking for a Data Privacy Officer to be responsible for monitoring compliance with applicable legislation (Data Privacy Act) and policies within our company. This role will also ensure personal data is appropriately managed and protected, while acting as the key contact person to the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and other authorities as necessary.

As Data Privacy Officer, You Will…

• Educate the company and employees on important compliance requirements
• Inform and cultivate awareness on privacy and data protection
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and address issues proactively
• Advise the company about complaints and/or persons who inquire of their rights
• Monitor data privacy performance and provide advice on the impact of data protection efforts
• Stay up-to-date on developments in data privacy and security
• Maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities conducted by the company
• Cooperate, coordinate and seek the advice of the National Privacy Commission (NPC) for matters concerning data privacy and security

As Data Privacy Officer, You Have…

• Post-secondary education in Business/Administration/Management/Finance or Accounting
• 5 years experience in the related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in data privacy, governance, risk, audit or compliance
• Expert knowledge of data protection laws and practices
• Knowledge and skill in applying data privacy or data protection guidelines
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills in fast-paced situations
• Excellent communication, presentation and team working skills
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external parties
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize and follow-up multiple tasks/details with accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
