Your key responsibilities
Platform Engineering: Design, implement, and lead the maintenance of our team's infrastructure and workflows on Google Cloud Platform, leveraging advanced GCP services.
CI/CD Excellence: Develop and maintain robust, high-throughput CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub and GitHub Actions, championing automation across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
IaC Mastery: Create, manage, and audit complex Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using Terraform, ensuring auditability and compliance.
Data Engineering: Possess sound knowledge of the design, development, and deployment for ETL/ELT based data pipelines.
Operational Excellence: Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and compliance of our infrastructure and products using enterprise monitoring and logging tools, including Google Cloud Logging.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a technical liaison, working closely with data architects, data engineers, and product management teams to define infrastructure roadmaps and prioritize technical requirements.
Release Management: Facilitate seamless environment promotions across Development, Testing, and Production tiers, ensuring code quality and deployment reliability.
Innovation & Mentorship: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Google Cloud Platform, applying this knowledge strategically to improve products and processes, while mentoring junior engineers.
Your skills and experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a data engineer or platform engineer role, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform within a highly regulated industry. Strong knowledge of ETL processes in Data Warehouse environments and Data Lakes.
Technical Depth: Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Terraform.
Pipeline Expertise: Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing integration, and GitHub/GitHub Actions. Good understanding of Docker, Artifactory, and container technologies.
Orchestration: Experience with Apache Airflow.
Security & Compliance: Strong understanding and practical application of security and compliance best practices, including specific GCP security features (IAM, VPC Service Controls, encryption).
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional initiatives and drive consensus
