About the Role
We are strengthening our data platform capabilities and are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and evolve our modern data platform.

You will play a key role in designing scalable data pipelines, improving data quality, and enabling analytics and AI use cases across our organization. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, data engineering, and platform thinking, working closely with product teams, analysts, and platform engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern tools (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Azure)
  • Develop and optimize data models for analytics and business use
  • Own and improve data platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
  • Implement data quality, observability, and testing frameworks
  • Contribute to data governance, metadata, and lineage practices
  • Enable self-service data access for product teams and analysts
  • Work closely with product teams to support data-driven features and services
  • Participate in the ongoing migration from legacy systems to modern data stack

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in data engineering or platform engineering
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Experience with modern data stack tools, such as:
  • dbt
  • Snowflake (or similar cloud data warehouse)
  • Azure (or AWS/GCP)
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Solid understanding of data modeling (e.g., dimensional modeling)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and version control (Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data platform architecture and design
  • Familiarity with data governance and ownership models
  • Experience with streaming or real-time data pipelines
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Exposure to AI/ML pipelines or analytics engineering
  • Experience working in product-oriented teams

Location
The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur office located at KL Sentral which is a strategic work location with convenience travelling by Monorail, Rapid Kelana Jaya Line, MRT and KTM services as well as easy to get to go by public transportation.
