Job Description

  • 12-month fixed term role
  • Market leading benefits, including discounted public transport
  • Flexible working, with 2 days in the office per week

At Kiwibank, we're committed
to making Kiwi better off. As we continue to grow and strengthen our data and
modelling capability, we're looking for a Data & Modelling Migration Analyst
to help deliver trusted insights, robust models and quality data that support
critical business decisions across Risk, Finance and Treasury.

Kō tātou tēnei. Hei kawe i ngā
mahi kia tutuki | This is us. Where making an impact matters.
The role will help move us
from siloed data sources to a trusted common data model that is accurate,
well-governed, explainable, and fit-for-purpose. You will gather and interpret
requirements, test data and business logic, and work through ambiguity, legacy
logic, undocumented processes, and incomplete information to shape a robust
data foundation that supports Kiwibank’s future modelling objectives.

Day-to-day, you could expect to work on:

  • Gathering, analysing, and defining data and modelling requirements
  • Mapping current-state data sources, feeds, tables, extracts, code, repositories, and reporting processes
  • Assessing existing data sources, processes, logic, and repositories to determine how they should inform the common data model
  • Interrogating SAS, SQL, and other relevant code to understand current-state logic and identify gaps, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Supporting testing and validation of data, logic, transformations, reconciliations, and model outputs to ensure quality, completeness, and traceability
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation, process maps, data lineage, dictionaries, decision records, and traceability
  • Translating business, modelling, and regulatory needs into practical data requirements, design decisions, and delivery-ready outputs

Please
note, this is a 12-month fixed term opportunity.

Ko tātou tēnei. Kia hāpai i ō pūkenga | This is
us. Where your expertise matters.
We're looking for
someone who is comfortable asking the right questions, challenging assumptions,
and turning complex or messy information into clear, usable data requirements
and design decisions. You’ll bring experience working with banking products,
balance sheet data, customer and account structures, and the way data flows
through core banking, finance, treasury, risk, regulatory, and reporting
processes.

You will also bring experience in:

  • Data analysis, data modelling, data mapping, lineage, and governance practices
  • Defining modelling inputs, assumptions, transformations, reconciliations, controls, and quality expectations
  • Technical and coding capability, with SQL, SAS, Python, or similar data-processing tools
  • Reading code, repositories, technical documentation, process artefacts, and business rules to understand current-state logic
  • Assessing whether data sources, processes, logic, and controls are fit-for-purpose for future modelling and reporting needs

Above all we are looking for
someone who embodies Kiwibank’s purpose and values, (Ngā Kauwaka), and someone
who thrives in a vibrant and inclusive work environment.
