The Mission

The Risk Data Tribe provides correct and harmonized data for its processing and to enable the change from report-driven to data-driven, while also enabling department to manage its end-to-end data flow in a structured and standardized way.

Your day to day

You will play a key role in ING's strategic Retail Risk Data Automation program. You will work closely with local business units, data consumers, and IT teams across multiple countries to transform manual and fragmented data sourcing processes into standardized and automated Analytical Base Table (ABT) solutions.

You will be responsible for understanding local data landscapes, identifying source systems and data flows, defining requirements, and supporting the implementation of scalable data solutions that enable efficient and compliant risk model development and reporting.

  • Analyze and document existing Retail Risk data sourcing processes across local ING entities.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to understand data requirements for Risk Analytical Base Tables (ABTs).
  • Identify and assess source systems, data providers, interfaces, and dependencies.
  • Document, and prioritize business, functional, and data requirements.
  • Define target-state data flows and support the design of automated data integration solutions.
  • Have a customer focus, where you build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Look ahead, you show a strategic mindset, and you find future opportunities which you can translate into concrete strategies.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Mandatory:
  • Have extensive experience in Data Management and knowledge of Data Solutions (E.g. Data Warehousing, Data Catalogue, Data Modelling, Data Lineage),
  • Experience in creating reporting cockpits, dashboards, and visual performance indicators using data analytics and visualization tools to support business monitoring and decision-making.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Functional Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex data ecosystems.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and data requirements.
  • Understanding of data lineage, data mapping, and source-to-target transformations.
  • Have experience in credit risk domain.
  • Able to proactively and independently identify problems, analyze key information and make connections, in order to bring solutions to senior management.
  • Familiar with Agile environment, and you know how to make it a real part of your job.
  • Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English (C1).
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across business and technology domains.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Nice to have
  • Experience in credit risk reporting, knowledge of Probability of Default, Loss Given Default, Exposure at Default concepts.
  • Understanding of BCBS239, data governance, and data quality principles.
  • SAS and SQL.
  • Education: master or bachelor’s degree (IT, Engineering, Mathematics or Economics/Business)
