POSITION

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position for up to one year with the possibility of renewal based on funding.

The Data Manager IV is responsible for the management and processing of clinical and preclinical data used to support the research goals of C-Path consortia and other data collaboration projects. The Data Manager utilizes vendor and internally developed tools to review data quality, normalize and aggregate data according to accepted data standards, identify and resolve process flow issues and data quality problems, and create data analysis sub-sets required by research plans. The Data Manager IV also assists with the design and implementation of databases and supports the development of solutions that address data collaboration needs across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, curate, and validate preclinical and clinical data.
  • Utilize vendor and internally developed tools to identify and resolve data quality problems.
  • Extract, transform, and load data into C-Path databases in accordance with prescribed data standards.
  • Analyze data and create analysis data sets based on research specifications.
  • Assist with the implementation and support of databases.
  • Assist in the development of internal data collaboration projects. This may involve the development of software to optimize data input and output.
  • Support effective collaborations with C-Path teammates, external vendors, consortia members, and other stakeholders across the globe.
  • Provide assistance and mentorship to junior Data Managers.
  • Travel on occasion for out-of-town meetings (3-5%)
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of clinical research industry and familiarity with clinical development process is beneficial.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prepare for meetings, and prioritize project work.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, Zoom and other conferencing technologies.
  • Works well independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, statistics, data management, computer science, information management or medical technology.
  • 5+ years' experience in industry (pharmaceutical, CRO, biotechnology), healthcare or academia,

preferred

  • 5 Years Experience with relational databases with proficiency in SQL (Postgre SQL and/or MySQL preferred)
  • 5 Years Experience using GitLab and programming platforms.
  • 5 Years Experience with statistical analysis software (SAS or 'R', preferred)
  • 5 Years Experience in clinical/preclinical data management is beneficial.
  • Competence with other programming languages such as Perl, Python, Java, C++, or Ruby is beneficial.
