Summary:

The Data Manager I supports the Shashi Lele, MD Familial Ovarian Cancer Registry (FOCR) by accurately collecting, reviewing, entering, and maintaining study data and regulatory documentation throughout the research lifecycle. This role assists with obtaining and processing informed consent from study participants, tracking participant status and study-related milestones, and completing participant follow-up communications. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in medical terminology and medical records abstraction, and the ability to monitor data quality, run reports, resolve discrepancies, and maintain databases using vendor-provided software.

Hourly range is $26.94 to $34.23

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a clinical trials and/or research environment; or
  2. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in a clinical trials and/or research environment.

NOTE:

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

  • Experience with collecting, reviewing, and entering clinical research data accurately and efficiently
  • Knowledge of healthcare data privacy regulations (e.g. HIPAA) and data privacy standards in medical research
  • Experience documenting processes and writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience in maintaining study and regulatory documentation throughout the research lifecycle
  • Experience in obtaining and processing informed consent from research participants
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and experience with medical records abstraction
  • Ability to monitor data for completeness and accuracy, define necessary queries, run reports, and rectify discrepancies
  • Understanding of relational database functionality
  • Assisting with study submissions, amendments, renewals, and other research-related materials
