Job Duties


Data Warehouse Architecture and Implementation
• Design and maintain an enterprise data warehouse integrating data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimize database schemas, ETL/ELT pipelines, and SQL queries.
• Implement data governance, data quality, and documentation standards, including metadata and data dictionaries.
• Monitor and resolve data quality anomalies and inconsistencies.
• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and recurring data needs

Security and Compliance
• Collaborate with the Information Security Officer to implement data security controls.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal data protection regulations and Authority policies.
• Implement access controls, data classification, audit trails, and remediation of audit findings.

Business Intelligence and Analysis
• Support business intelligence initiatives, analytics, and dashboards.
• Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and inventory data to support strategic decision making.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for data requests and reporting needs.
• Summarize divisional key performance indicators for the CCA’s annual report.
• Produce surveys and analyze their results to evaluate and inform CCA programs.

Leadership, Collaboration, and Continuous Improvement
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of data analysts.
• Provide technical guidance and training on data standards, tools, and best practices.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure effective data management practices and to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Identify and implement improvements to data infrastructure, processes, and technologies.
• Maintain professional, respectful, and service-oriented relationships with all stakeholders.

Other duties as assigned
• Follow workplace safety regulations and adhere to applicable standards, processes, and programs established for your position.
• Report unsafe work conditions to your supervisor.
• Immediately report work-related incidents to your supervisor and participate in accident investigation requests.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s)
• Expert knowledge of database design, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse architecture.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with ETL/ELT processes.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and metadata practices.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance in regulated environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Epidemiology, or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with work experience that equates to an advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in data management, database administration, or related roles.
• Demonstrated experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries or other programming languages to manage databases.
• Experience handling sensitive or confidential data with appropriate security controls.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Additional Considerations

Preferred (Optional) Experience

• Experience designing and implementing data warehouses or data lakes.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration platforms.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
• Experience supervising teams or projects.
• Experience working in state government or highly regulated industries.
• Experience developing, executing, analyzing, and reporting survey findings.
• Prior collaboration with Information Security teams on data protection and compliance initiatives.
