Job Description

We are on the journey to transform our digital capabilities, bringing core business processes, people, data & technology together - an enabler for IKEA to become an even better home furnishing retailer in the future. A journey that needs passionate people who embrace change, dare to question and want to make a difference. If that sounds like you, come and join us. Together we can do great things!

About the area

Inter IKEA Group is organized in three core businesses - Range, Supply and Retail Concept - and five enabling functions. Together we contribute to the success of IKEA and share responsibility for the franchise offer.

The enabling functions lead key common activities in networks across Inter IKEA Group, as well as cover specific needs for the core businesses. The five Enabling functions are Operations Management, Business Performance & Support, Communication, Sustainability and People & Culture.

Operations Management leads and holds together the development and maintenance of a common foundation for how we work together across the value chain, our operating model. We enable strategic movements towards the IKEA goals through the strategic landscape and work closely with all parts of the value chain to achieve them. It includes teams for business insights, capability and process development, strategy and roadmap, data and product, and technology.

Our mission in the Inter IKEA Group is to build a strong data foundation to enable the growth of IKEA. It covers, among other things, sustainability data and material data, transforming it into a trusted and democratic resource. It empowers IKEA co-workers, suppliers, and customers to make sustainable and efficient decisions across the value chain—giving us the means to understand our past, make informed decisions in the present, and simulate the future impact of different choices.

We have chosen to organize our work in a data and product paradigm where we are building empowered teams that have the privilege to take responsibility while being supported by servant leaders.

At IKEA, we believe that great data is the foundation for better decisions, better experiences, and a better everyday life for the many people.

We're looking for a Data Management Specialist to strengthen our Data Enablement Platform which today is used across the whole Inter IKEA Group. You'll work closely with the Digital Product Leader as part of the product team to make the platform easier to use, better connected, and more valuable across IKEA.

You'll be a hands-on specialist for capabilities such as metadata management, data catalogue, data quality, data lineage and governance workflows — helping teams find, understand, trust and use data consistently. This is a role for someone who treats a platform as a product: you care about users, adoption, feedback and clear value, and you enjoy working where data management, product thinking and technology meet.

You will:

  • Act as a product specialist for the Data Enablement Platform, supporting the Digital Product Leader and product team in day-to-day product work
  • Work with users, data stewards, subject matter experts, digital product teams and data teams to understand needs, pain points and opportunities
  • Support the development, configuration and adoption of data management capabilities (data catalogue, data quality, metadata management, etc.)
  • Drive operational hands-on work with data platforms and tools such as Databricks, Collibra or similar — for example, configuring and defining catalogue standards, build lineage views and engage in data contract realization. Create and maintain validation rules. Optimizing the product's usability to find, understand, trust and use data consistently.
  • Help teams use the platform consistently through guidance, examples, training and practical support
  • Contribute to roadmap input, backlog refinement, OKRs, product rituals and user feedback loops
  • Drive knowledge sharing and contribute to common methods, standards and best practices across the IKEA data community

You're a hands-on data management specialist, curious about people, business and technology, who enjoys making complex things simple and useful. You see metadata, quality, ownership and governance as enablers of better decisions and more trusted data — and you bring a product mindset to platform work, balancing structure and governance with simplicity. You're collaborative, take initiative, and can move comfortably between practical hands-on work and conversations about future direction.

Qualification

  • Strong hands-on experience in data management, especially metadata management, data catalogue, data quality, data governance and data lineage
  • Experience with data management platforms and modern data technologies, preferably Collibra, Databricks or similar
  • Experience working closely with digital product teams, preferably within a product operating model
  • Good understanding of data governance, information governance and data management practices
  • Experience supporting or improving data quality practices, including issue management, measurement, monitoring or root cause analysis
  • Relevant education or equivalent experience in data, technology, information management, business, computer science or a related field

Nice to have: familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog, Alation, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, data stewardship communities, data products, data contracts or data marketplaces.
