The Center for Tobacco Research (CTR) at The Ohio State University is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Management Analyst to support the management, quality control, analysis, and reporting of data generated through the Center's clinical research studies.
Working under the direction of the Senior Biostatistician, the Data Management Analyst will support the ongoing monitoring and management of study data, including participant recruitment and retention metrics, data quality monitoring, database management, data integration, statistical analyses, and preparation of reports, tables, figures, and scientific manuscripts. The position will work across multiple clinical research studies and collaborate closely with biostatisticians, clinical research staff, investigators, and other members of the research team.
An important component of this position will be gaining hands-on experience with clinical research operations. The Data Management Analyst will periodically support clinical study coordination activities, including participant visits, data collection, and other study procedures. This experience is intended to provide a practical understanding of how clinical research data are generated and collected and will strengthen the individual's ability to identify data-quality issues, understand study databases, and effectively support downstream data analysis.
As the Center's research portfolio and volume of available data continue to expand, the position will progressively assume greater responsibility for data management, statistical analysis, and reporting activities.

Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Health Sciences, Computer Science or relevant field. Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental statistical concepts and methods. Experience working with statistical or data-management software. Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and data-quality issues.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities in a clinical research environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, data science, or a closely related field. Experience with SAS and/or R. Experience with REDCap or other clinical research database systems. Experience managing, cleaning, or integrating research datasets from multiple sources. Experience preparing statistical tables, figures, or research reports. Familiarity with clinical research methodology and human-subjects research. Experience working with longitudinal, clinical, behavioral, or pharmacokinetic data. Experience supporting scientific manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, or publications. Experience with data visualization and presentation of research findings. Previous experience working in a clinical research or academic research environment.
