We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Data Engineering & Financial Data Solutions to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms supporting complex financial and regulatory reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in Data Warehouse [DWH] architecture, financial data modelling, data ingestion frameworks, ETL/ELT processing, reporting layer design, and production support. This role requires direct engagement with business stakeholders throughout the requirements gathering, development, deployment, and post-production support lifecycle.

The candidate must have hands-on experience in both on-premises and cloud-based data ecosystems and demonstrate strong technical proficiency in SQL and Python

Key Responsibilities

Financial Data Modelling & Database Design

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance database solutions supporting complex financial and management reporting requirements.
  • Architect logical and physical data models for enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and reporting platforms.
  • Optimize database structures, partitioning strategies, indexing, and query performance for large-volume data environments.

Requirements Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage business users, operations teams, and technology stakeholders during requirements gathering and solution design phases.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Provide advisory support to business teams on data availability, reporting requirements, and solution capabilities.
  • Act as a key liaison between business users, delivery teams, and production support teams.

Data Platform Engineering

  • Design and implement end-to-end data ingestion frameworks from multiple internal and external source systems.
  • Develop scalable ETL/ELT solutions supporting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Build and maintain processing layers and reporting-ready data models following industry best practices.
  • Support Medallion Architecture implementations, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.

Reporting & Analytics Enablement

  • Design reporting and semantic layers supporting BI and analytics platforms.
  • Ensure data quality, reconciliation, auditing, and lineage requirements are incorporated into solution designs.
  • Work closely with reporting and analytics teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.

Production Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide Level 3 support for production issues and performance optimization.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring incidents.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across data engineering and reporting platforms.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational controls for data pipelines and reporting solutions.

Cloud & Hybrid Data Architecture

  • Design and support hybrid architectures spanning on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Implement secure, scalable, and resilient data solutions across enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and governance teams to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Development, Data Warehousing, or Enterprise Data Solutions.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing complex financial data models and reporting solutions.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise database design and development.
  • Advanced SQL development skills of Complex queries, Stored procedures, Performance tuning, Query optimization, and Data modelling
  • Strong Python development experience of Data ingestion, Data transformation, Automation, and Data quality controls
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing of Data ingestion layers, Processing layers, Reporting layers, and Enterprise data pipelines
  • Proven experience supporting business users during Requirements analysis, UAT, Production deployment, and Post-production support
  • Mandatory experience working in both On-Premises data platforms and Cloud-based data platforms
  • Able to lead the team of 10 people along with the individual contributor.

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks, OneLake, or equivalent cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Banking, Treasury, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, or Risk Management data.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, workflow orchestration, and data governance.
  • Knowledge of data security, access control, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant cloud, database, or data engineering certifications are advantageous.
