DataGalaxy Support Tasks

• Perform simple quality checks on metadata completeness (e.g., missing descriptions, missing owners)
• Help maintain data owners/stewards lists and their assigned responsibilities
• Assist in validating or updating business terms, glossaries, and simple attributes
• Work with data stewards and business users to collect missing information or clarify metadata
• Support the MDM Team in coordinating workshops with departments to gather metadata

User Support

• Provide basic assistance to employees on simple data topics (e.g., best method of search, navigation)
• Redirect complex questions to more senior data team members
• Track recurring questions to help improve training materials and data content

Program Management

• Help monitor usage of DataGalaxy and collect user feedback
• Assist in preparing monthly report summarizing user engagement (usage, questions, new content)
• Help prepare newsletters and internal communication materials
• Gather new use cases from different departments
• Draft brief announcements or updates to promote DataGalaxy usage

Learning & Development

• Participate in internal training related to DataGalaxy, Data Governance, and Master Data Management
• Continuously develop knowledge of data concepts, metadata standards, data governance practices, data ownership, and data lifecycle
• Stay informed about new features and updates in DataGalaxy and other internal tools
• Help MDM Team (re)organize repository of documentation (Teams/SharePoint)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in data, analytics, and learning new tools
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Power BI is a plus, but not required
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and ask for help when needed
• Curiosity and willingness to ask questions
• Ability to explain simple topics clearly

Preferred Skills (Nice‑to‑Have)

• Basic understanding of data concepts (KPIs, charts, data quality)
• Experience supporting training or facilitating small groups
• Familiarity with internal collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

Micro Job Description – Data Literacy Assistant

Entry‑level role supporting the MDM Team with metadata documentation in DataGalaxy, basic user assistance, and data literacy activities. Responsibilities include updating business terms, performing simple quality checks, helping users with navigation/search, preparing engagement reports, and maintaining documentation. Requires strong curiosity, organization, communication skills, and basic Excel knowledge. Power BI and familiarity with Teams/SharePoint are a plus.
