We are looking for a senior leader who can turn business priorities into scalable, reliable domain data products while leading delivery, standards, and cross-domain execution in a Data Mesh environment.

YOUR MISSION:

As Data IT Delivery Lead, you will shape how domain data products are built, delivered, and operated in a federated data environment. You will connect business priorities with data product strategy, data engineering delivery, and operational reliability to create measurable business value.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

This is an opportunity to shape domain data products end to end — with real influence on data quality, engineering standards, and business outcomes.

• Own domain data products across their full lifecycle, from design and development to operationalization, evolution, and retirement
• Lead data engineering delivery across data ingestion, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and the broader engineering process
• Co-lead with business domain owners to align business priorities, roadmap decisions, and delivery outcomes
• Build and scale domain data products on the unified data platform, ensuring consistency, quality, and reuse across domains
• Define and enforce data product standards for interoperability, governance, and quality
• Ensure reliability and operational stability through service levels, release discipline, and strong engineering practices
• Manage technical debt and architectural evolution while balancing speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability
• Drive strategic improvement through optimization, governance, ROI focus, and clear communication of risks and dependencies

Qualifications

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

Leadership & stakeholder management

• experience leading data engineering or data product teams
• the ability to act as a technical co-leader and strategic partner to business domain owners
• strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
• confidence navigating cross-domain complexity and dependencies

Technical & engineering delivery

• experience building and operating scalable data products on modern cloud-based data platforms
• a solid understanding of data ingestion, pipelines, transformations, APIs, monitoring, and observability
• the ability to support operational stability, reliability, and quality through strong engineering practices
• a strong general IT foundation, with additional exposure to software development and cloud environments

Data product & domain expertise

• strong experience in data product management, data engineering delivery, and domain-oriented data product design
• the ability to translate business priorities into domain data products with clear value and measurable outcomes
• experience working in federated data environments with domain ownership, interoperability, reuse, and cross-domain collaboration
• a strong understanding of balancing data quality, standardization, and business value

It would also help if you bring

• experience in IT delivery, IT environments, or business transformation
• strengths in planning, risk management, result orientation, presentation, and concept development
• experience with continuous improvement, data analysis, and customer-oriented thinking
• English at C1 level and German at B2 level as an advantage
• a Master’s degree in Information Technologies or a comparable background

The selection process includes a leadership assessment evaluating leadership capabilities and fit with DTAG leadership and quality standards. A successful completion is required to proceed further in the hiring process.

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2 700 € /brutto.
