Summary

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting data integrations, automations, reports, and software solutions that support county business operations. Transforms data into actionable information, empowers informed decision-making across the organization and supports strategic and operational goals.

Examples of duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Design, develop, test, document, monitor, and maintain data integrations between County systems using APIs, database connections, scripts, and other integration tools.
• ·Conduct analyses of functional business processes and requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and work with teammates to implement.
• Develop, maintain, and present reports by data mining, collecting, integrating, modeling, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends in formats that meet user needs.
• Design, develop, and optimize data models to support reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
• Create, install, and test database integrations, permissions and privileges.
• Utilize Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services, or other software in a Microsoft SQL/T-SQL/M365 environment to bring together data from disparate systems to design and produce models, dashboards, and reports.
• Analyze, design, optimize, and automate processes and workflows using county provided platforms and tools.
• Support county reports, dashboards, audits, and other data systems while adhering to project deadlines and service level agreements
• Coordinate and manage projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Maintain technical documentation for integrations, automations, data models, reports, configurations, and support procedures.
• Provide report and system training for various county employees, departments, and organizations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s* degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in data integration, database design, and/or query optimization or in a related IT role.
• * Approved work experience beyond that required which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered and substituted for the stated education.
• Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License, as well as meet eligibility requires of “acceptable driving standards” as defined by the County.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse individuals.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite and other software related to data management, communication, and other common business processes.
• Ability to follow established policies and procedures for confidentiality while adapting to evolving privacy standards and technologies.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within a team.
• Basic knowledge of I.T. security practices.
• Extensive technical aptitude skills and ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
• Ability to disseminate information to technical and non-technical individuals.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience in designing, developing, and optimizing reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
