Job Description

Data & Insight Specialist at Arla - Stockholm

Do you enjoy operating at the intersection of commercial business and technology? Can you translate complex business needs into trusted data products, reporting solutions and information support that people use to make better decisions?

We are looking for a Data & Insight Specialist to join our team at Arla’s head office in Solna, Stockholm. You will represent the commercial organisation in the development of information support, with a particular focus on market, shopper and customer data. You will connect business needs with Group IT, technical specialists and external data partners, ensuring that our investments in data, platforms, tools and reporting create measurable value.

How you will make an impact

You will own and develop a portfolio of commercial data products and information solutions used across Category Development, Sales, Marketing and other commercial functions. Your role is to set direction, clarify priorities and requirements, enable effective delivery and drive adoption. You are commercially grounded and technically fluent, but your primary contribution is not to act as a data engineer. It is to ensure that the right solutions are built, trusted and used.

In this role, you will

  • Own and manage a portfolio of commercial data products, reporting solutions and analytical capabilities.
  • Integrate and work with data from multiple internal and external sources to deliver reliable and actionable business insights.
  • Develop and continuously improve dashboards, reporting solutions and analytical tools that support Customer Marketing and the broader commercial organization.
  • Manage syndicated market and shopper data from external partners and ensure that data deliveries meet Arla’s business requirements and quality standards.
  • Own relationships with key data suppliers, including budgets, contracts and commercial negotiations with partners such as NielsenIQ, ICA Self-Serve, Matpriskollen and other market data providers.
  • Partner closely with Category Development, Sales, Marketing and other stakeholders to translate business needs and challenges into relevant analytical solutions.
  • Turn data into meaningful category, shopper and commercial insights that support both strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and provide data-driven recommendations on business opportunities, risks and performance.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve and automate data processes, analytical capabilities and ways of working.

What will make you successful

You combine commercial judgement, product ownership and technical fluency. You are comfortable moving between leadership-level discussions, commercial users and technically specialised colleagues, adapting your language and level of detail to the audience.

We are looking for someone who has

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial data products, business intelligence, analytics product management, information management, digital enablement or a related field.
  • Experience acting as the bridge between business functions and IT or data teams, including requirement definition, prioritisation and solution delivery.
  • Strong commercial understanding, preferably from FMCG, retail or consumer goods, and knowledge of market, shopper or customer data.
  • Experience owning or developing a portfolio, roadmap or lifecycle for data, reporting, analytics or digital products.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence decisions, align competing needs and build trust across functions and organisational levels.
  • Experience managing external data or technology suppliers, including commercial negotiations, contracts, service performance and partnership development.
  • Technical fluency in SQL, Power BI, data models, data integrations, modern cloud-based analytics environments and data-quality principles.
  • The ability to challenge and discuss technical solution design with specialists without needing to operate as a data engineer.
  • Understanding of commercial KPIs and decision processes, including category management, pricing, promotions and performance management.
  • A relevant degree in Business, Economics, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English. Swedish is an advantage.

It would be an advantage if you also have

  • Experience with syndicated market, shopper or retailer data and related providers.
  • Experience driving adoption, capability building or change for data and digital solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics, automation, AI or predictive use cases in a commercial setting.
  • Experience working in an international or matrix organisation.

Who are you?

  • You are commercially curious and naturally start with the business decision or user need, not the technology.
  • You can create structure from ambiguity, make priorities visible and move stakeholders toward decisions.
  • You communicate credibly with executives, commercial colleagues, technical specialists and external partners.
  • You are collaborative and pragmatic, while being confident enough to challenge requirements, suppliers and proposed solutions.
  • You take ownership from idea to adoption and value realisation, with a continuous learning mindset.
