Our team runs a data ingestion service that extracts and delivers data from SAP ERP systems into Snowflake, leveraging technologies such as SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) and SNP. As the volume, complexity, and downstream demand for this data grows, so does the need for engineers who can keep the service reliable, scalable, and aligned with modern data engineering standards.

In this role you will be at the heart of that effort — bridging the SAP and Snowflake worlds, building robust pipelines, and helping data consumers across Siemens get the high-quality data they need to make decisions.

We are looking for: Data Ingestion Engineer

You’ll break new ground by:

• Taking end-to-end ownership of data ingestion pipelines — from SAP source extraction through to structured, consumption-ready data in Snowflake.
• Designing and implementing scalable DataOps practices so that pipelines are tested, version-controlled, and deployable with confidence.
• Building and maintaining dbt transformation models that support Snowflake side operations.
• Monitoring ingestion flows, identifying issues early and resolving them before they impact downstream consumers.
• Collaborating with data teams across Siemens as a technical partner — sharing expertise, reviewing designs, and contributing to reusable standards and patterns.
• Continuously improving the data stack by staying current with tooling advancements and bringing new ideas to the team.
• Communicating clearly about what the team builds and the value it generates for the business.

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Solid experience in data integration and pipeline development, ideally in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake — data loading patterns, performance optimization.
• SQL skills, including writing and tuning complex queries.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with SAP system monitoring and data extraction concepts.
• Programming skills in SAP ABAP — advanced knowledge is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Experience with SAP SLT is a plus.
• Comfort working with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automation tooling.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
• A collaborative mindset and genuine enjoyment of working across teams and disciplines.
