Job Description

Imagine a future where you drive the continuous development and implementation of professional data management practices

Join us in this role where you'll enable colleagues across Ørsted to discover, understand, trust, and reuse data through modern data management and metadata practices.

Welcome to Ørsted Data Ecosystem

You'll be part of the Data Management Product Team, where you, together with your colleagues, will enable people across Ørsted to easily, securely, and reliably generate value from data.

As a team, we achieve this through a combination of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, governance frameworks, and internally developed automation and tooling.

You'll play an important role in:

  • driving Ørsted's adoption of the enterprise data catalogue by ensuring datasets are consistently documented with clear business definitions, ownership, lineage, and usage guidance
  • accelerating data product onboarding by streamlining how teams register, document, and publish their data products, reducing manual effort and improving consistency across the organisation
  • enabling AI-ready data products by ensuring metadata provides the context, business meaning, quality indicators, and governance information required for both people and AI systems to safely consume data
  • configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting metadata ingestion, integrations, and automation between the data catalogue and enterprise platforms
  • providing responsive and user-focused support to data producers and consumers, helping colleagues navigate catalogue, onboarding, and integration challenges through clear communication and continuous improvement of processes and self-service capabilities
  • connecting stakeholders across the organisation by collaborating closely with engineers, architects, product teams, and governance functions to align priorities, ways of working, and outcomes.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are experience with data governance and metadata management practices, such as business glossaries, data classification, stewardship models, and standards that help drive adoption and trust in data.
  • have exposure to enterprise data catalogues (e.g., Collate, DataHub, Collibra, Atlan, Informatica, AWS Glue), including metadata ingestion, lineage, catalogue configuration, and supporting both data producers and consumers.
  • have strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineers, architects, product teams, and governance stakeholders to resolve challenges and continuously improve services.
  • have experience building integrations, automations, or onboarding workflows using Python, REST APIs, or similar technologies, with the ability to translate governance and metadata requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • have familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices (e.g., GitHub, GitHub Actions) and an appreciation for applying engineering discipline to catalogue configuration, ingestion pipelines, and automation.
  • have knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS and experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (e.g., AKS or EKS).

Maybe your profile doesn't match every requirementMaybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you believe you can contribute to the team and are excited about the role, we still encourage you to apply.

About Ørsted

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.

As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
