About the Role

Responsible for executing transformation initiatives in relation to Data Governance covering various Data Domains across the AIA PH entities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and coordinating Data Governance activities, such as Critical Data Elements review, Data Quality assessment requirements, Data Governance Working Group Operations, Data Change Management
  • Ensure Data360 Govern, Consolidated CDE List, and DQ Trending file contain correct list of CDEs, and rule definitions based on the Group cascaded CDE list and Local CDE list.
  • Ensure DQ Trending file is updated including all details – scores, remediation plans, expected date to be available in DQ dashboard, exemption status, scope of exemption (full or partial – add details on partial scope) Local CDE list.
  • Works with Data Owners and Data Stewards to monitor and report on the performance and compliance of Data Governance metrics which includes the planning and driving of CDE implementation and resolution of technical issues to ensure Data Governance KPIs are met for domains assigned.
  • Review DQ Dry Run and Prod Run results and identify any major deviations on record counts, CDE implementation %, data quality scores, and other key metrics that require fixing.
  • Identify improvement areas to achieve efficient DQ runs with no score deletion, score copy, or any post-Prod run actions.
  • Report major deviations to Data Governance Head after each Dry Run and Prod Run
  • Secure signoff from Data Owners on Prod Run scores, highlighting newly implemented CDEs and those with changes/fixes for the month.
  • Works with Data Governance Data Engineers to identify technical source mappings required for CDE implementation.
  • Works closely with Data Architecture team to ensure the support to the Data Governance framework.
  • Collaborate with Data Stewards and Data Owners on changes to implementation, reference lists, filters, etc. and secure documented signoff on key decisions from Data Owners
  • Provide Data Governance updates to DG Working Group as required in the Data Governance Standards.
  • Review attendance of DGWG members to the monthly meetings and report to Data Gov Head any ORIs that need to be raised.
  • Promotes the delivery of high data quality in a standardized and reliable format.
  • Implements Data Governance processes and tools for continuous data quality monitoring and improvement.
  • Ensures standardization of data definitions, formats, and metadata of identified Critical Data Elements.
  • Submits progress updates on Data Governance implementation across data domains to Group for reporting to the Group data council where appropriate.
  • Plan and drive implementation of Group Requirements and Audit Findings and ensure on time compliance.
  • Support data-driven innovation, drive data literacy and promote data-driven culture across AIA PH.
  • Enforces data-related policies and procedures and ensures that they are according to the Data Governance standard and escalates where and when necessary.
  • Performs other duties needed to help drive the company’s vision, mission, and abide by the Organization’s Values and policies.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Education - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Technical Skills:

* Working knowledge of MS Office Applications and e-mail applications

* Data Management understanding

* Basic SQL knowledge

* Knowledge of Data Governance Tools (Data360; Informatica and/or similar tools)

* Knowledge on use of Databricks

  • Soft Skills - Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good business writing skills and can command/facilitate meetings at different levels.
  • Ability to understand simple insurance process or principles - Relevant knowledge or experience on life insurance products is an advantage.
  • With hands-on knowledge and experience in data governance and its tools
