Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage Microsoft Purview to support enterprise data governance, cataloging, and compliance needs.
• Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Configure and manage data sources, collections, and classifications within Microsoft Purview.
• Partner with data owners, stewards, and business units to ensure accurate metadata management, lineage tracking, and data quality.
• Define and manage data access controls, sensitivity labels, and retention policies using Purview and related Microsoft 365 compliance tools.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
• Support data discovery and catalog adoption across business and technical teams.
• Monitor and report on data governance metrics, compliance status, and risk exposure.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data governance best practices and Purview capabilities.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or compliance roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (Data Catalog, Data Map, Information Protection, or Compliance Manager).
• Ability to connect a variety of data sources to Microsoft Purview.
• Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and classification concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse, SQL, Power BI) and integration with Purview.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications such as:
  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
• Experience with data governance tools beyond Purview (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
• Experience in data governance program design or policy development
