The Data Governance Analyst plays a key role in advancing the organization's data governance framework, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance across all business units. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement data standards, policies, and procedures that enhance data management and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures tailored to healthcare and managed care operations.
  • Monitor and improve data quality across Medicaid and Medicare datasets, identifying and resolving data integrity issues.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, business analysts, and IT teams to define and maintain metadata, data lineage, and data classification.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HEDIS, CMS guidelines, and state-specific Medicaid requirements.
  • Conduct data audits and assessments to validate data accuracy and completeness for reporting and analytics.
  • Facilitate data stewardship activities and promote best practices in data management across departments.
  • Participate in governance committees and contribute to continuous improvement of data governance processes.
  • Provide training and support to business users on data governance tools and practices.
  • Perform any other duties as required to ensure Health Plan operations and department business needs are successful.
  • Qualifications

    Education & Requirement

    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management within the healthcare industry
    • Hands-on experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, or other managed care programs also required
      • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Azure Purview) is preferred.
      • Experience in the areas of medical or health services preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field
      • In lieu of the required degree, a minimum of four (4) years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.

    Key Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of data governance principles and healthcare data management best practicesKnowledge of data modeling, metadata management, and master data management conceptsFamiliarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, ICD-10, CPT) and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, CMS)
    • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders
    • Proficiency in data profiling, data quality assessment, and root cause analysis
    • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is required
    • Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention-to-detail
    • Ability to handle multiple projects, data input, and strong problem-solving capability
    • Independent self-starter who is driven to success, takes great pride in accomplishments and works with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

    Work Model Location

    This position is on a hybrid work schedule. (Monday & Friday - remote, Tuesday – Thursday onsite in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.)

    Pay Range

    USD $118,601.60 - USD $157,144.00 /Yr.
