Job Description

Location: Archdiocese of Los Angeles

Status: Non - Exempt, Part Time

Gathers and verifies data on inmate attendance and participation in various “FINDING THE WAY IN JAIL” programs from source documents and enters data in specific data fields; Prepares and delivers reports to the director of the Office of Restorative Justice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCATIONS

Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

  • Read source documents g. sign-in sheets, chaplain activity logs.
  • It's employee's responsibility to coordinate with the designated person, the exchange of the lists to be able to perform the material must be pick up during office hours (Monday to Friday between 8am and 3:30pm)
  • Lists cannot be divided on different pay If not completed within present pay period it will be applied to the following timesheet.
  • Total, of entries must equal the amount on If there is a difference, the employee should make a note as to why there is a change.
  • Maintain logs of activities and completed work
  • Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
  • Return originals documents with the time sheet on a regular basis.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically

  • Two years of experience in data entry.
  • Managing software programs that allows users to organize format and calculate data with formulas using a spreadsheet system (excel)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word and excel processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • English and Spanish - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English and Spanish languages including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Skills in:

  • Writing - Communicates effectively in writing and speaking.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Time Management - Manages one’s own time to be most productive, delivers projects, and reports on time.
  • Coordination - Adjusts actions in relation to other's needs.
  • Service Orientation - Actively looks for ways to help people.
  • Discretion - the ability to be discreet, especially with reference to the privacy concerns of others. Exercises prudence with the information being processed.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis.
  • Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms.
