Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer MySQL environments (5.6/5.7/8.0) across Linux servers in dev, test, and prod
• Monitor replication (GTID, semi-sync), slow queries, and performance metrics
• Perform version upgrades, schema changes, and migrations to GCP Cloud SQL or Azure MySQL Flexible Server
• Automate health checks, backups, and monitoring tasks using Shell or Python scripts
• Troubleshoot application database issues, participate in on-call rotation, and coordinate with developers
• Support Tier 1 engineers with escalation handling and process documentation
• Provision MySQL infrastructure using Terraform or deployment pipelines
• Maintain documentation: SOPs, access control, replication setups, and recovery procedures
• Collaborate with ESRO teams for audit and security compliance activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant fields
• 8+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA supporting production systems
• Solid knowledge of InnoDB engine, indexing, query optimization, and configuration tuning
• Experience with MySQL replication, backup strategies (XtraBackup/Percona), and PITR
• Proficient in Linux OS, Shell/Python scripting, and automation practices
• Cloud experience with GCP Cloud SQL, Azure MySQL Flexible Server, or AWS RDS
• Exposure to Terraform or similar IaC tools for provisioning and configuration
• Familiarity with operational monitoring tools (Percona Toolkit, custom scripts, cloud-native tools)
• Experience in on-call duties, release support, and Tier 1 team collaboration
• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions using no-code, low-code, and advanced platforms, translating business needs into scalable applications that enhance products, workflows, and decision-making.
