Basic Job Scope:

Expected Length of Internship:

• January 7th, 2027 – May 17th, 2027
• As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, if it doesn’t interfere with the essential functions of the position.

Education/Experience:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Foundational experience writing Python code for data processing, automation, or application development.
• Strong understanding of SQL, including writing queries, joining tables, filtering data, and working with relational databases.
• Experience building ETL pipelines or moving data between databases, files, applications, or web-based systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative software-development practices.
• Experience with Streamlit, REST APIs, SharePoint data, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance is preferred.
• Understanding of Docker or similar containerization applications and containerization concepts is a plus
• Experience with JMP or similar statistical analysis software is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with automating communication channels such as email and Teams chats with application data included is preferred.
• First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.

Required Skills/Competencies:

• Strong foundational knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Ability to understand relational data structures and troubleshoot data-quality or data-integration issues.
• Ability to develop clear, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Familiarity with Git concepts such as repositories, branches, commits, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and internal data systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail when validating data, application behavior, and pipeline results.
• Commitment to responsible handling of proprietary and business-sensitive information.
• Experience with fundamental technologies in a Microsoft environment: Windows OS, Office 365, etc.

Basic Internship Scope (Project):

• The Data Analytics Intern will support the development of Python-based data integration and analytics solutions including dashboard building and automating verification of processing data. The intern will work primarily within a Streamlit application while also gaining exposure to REST API development, Sharepoint data interactions, JMP statistical analysis software scripting development, and other application architectures.
• The intern’s major project will be to design, develop, test, and document ETL pipelines that retrieve information from SQL databases and SharePoint-based sources, transform and validate the data, apply relevant business logic checks, and make it available for consumption through internal analytics applications, software, and communication channels.
• Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.

Estimated Hourly Range:

• $22.00- $25.00/hr.
