Job Description

To create and drive the data engineering strategy and manages the data engineering practice for the Business. Responsible for the data capability including data technology platform and architecture; business intelligence; as well as workforce skills and data engineering practice planning, development and reporting Key to the role is ensuring consistent delivery of optimal data capability aligned to Group. Lead and develop multiple teams focused on the various areas of data engineering and ensures the operational stability and effectiveness of the Business Data Platform.

Are you someone who can:

  • Define and implement the data engineering strategy aligned to business and technology objectives
  • Lead the design, build, and optimisation of data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest and process structured and unstructured data
  • Establish and manage data SLAs across Segment (availability, freshness, quality)
  • Define and enforce data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
  • Enable seamless integration between systems through data APIs and pipelines
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of Data Engineering teams

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have an NQF level 7 or similar qualification
  • Have 15 years of experience in a data role
  • Have 5 years' experience in a leadership role
