Data Engineer | Financial Services

Our client is a well-known and reputable Financial Services organisation and are now hiring for an experienced Data Engineer. This is a fast paced and dynamic environment that will give the successful applicant great exposure to senior stakeholders within the business and work with some of the latest technologies.

The role will be responsible for designing and driving the data integration pipelines, ETL/ELT, and data management strategies across the business.

The Role

• Responsible for building, managing and optimising data pipelines
• Work closely with senior stakeholders and the wider business to build data knowledge and data solutions
• Understand the needs of the business and identify, design and implement process improvements
• Transform, analyse and visualise data from a wide variety of data sources
• End to end data projects
• Support the data needs of multiple teams in a fast-moving environment
• Assemble complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
• Support system integration testing, unit testing and data reconciliations.
  
• Maintain documentation to support the business and create reports

The Person

• 5+ years experience in Data Warehousing
• Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems
• Extensive knowledge of SQL and database architecture
• Experience designing data management processes and capabilities
• Knowledge of current data preparation, integration and metadata management tools and techniques
• Experience in ETL design, data warehousing, data modelling and data wrangling
• Strong critical thinking and proven problem-solving abilities
