What’s the role?
You’ll join Westpac as a Data Engineer working in Marketing Technology, helping shape how customer and marketing data flows across the organisation. This is a 18 month maximum term role based in Sydney or Warrane on Gadigal Country, with a hybrid working arrangement that balances time in the office with flexibility at home.
In this role, you’ll design, build and optimise modern data solutions that power customer analytics, personalisation and marketing decisioning. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Analytics and Data Platform teams in an agile environment, turning ideas into reliable data products used across platforms like Adobe Experience Platform and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
You’ll spend your time building scalable ELT pipelines and analytical data models on Snowflake, modernising legacy workloads, and improving performance, cost and reliability across data platforms. You’ll also help lift standards across the team by contributing to data architecture patterns, automation, CI CD and data quality practices. This is a hands on role where your work directly supports better customer experiences and smarter marketing decisions.
What do I need?
• Strong hands on experience building data solutions on Snowflake using advanced SQL
• Experience designing ELT pipelines and analytical data models
• Confidence working with customer or marketing data and supporting analytics or activation use cases
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern engineering practices such as CI CD or Infrastructure as Code
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non technical stakeholders
