Data Engineer

This is an onsite role within a Data Engineering team, working alongside architects, analysts, and data/AI/governance professionals in a collaborative, Agile environment. The role focuses on accelerating data initiatives through modern, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with architects, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions
• Build scalable, secure data products with strong governance and quality
• Design and develop data pipelines (batch/streaming) using cloud technologies
• Create design artifacts including mapping specifications
• Develop unit/integration tests and support CI/CD automation
• Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems
• Work within Agile framework and demonstrate adaptability and attention to detail

Must Have:

• 5+ years experience in data analysis, design, development, and delivery
• 5+ years proficiency in SQL, ETL/ELT, cloud data warehouses, and data management tools
• 2+ years experience with DevOps and CI/CD
• 1+ year hands-on experience with Git and Python (beyond POC)
• Strong understanding of data engineering best practices and integration patterns

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AWS and/or Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, orchestration)
• Experience with automation, scripting, and testing in data environments
• Experience working with complex data systems
• Understanding of data governance, catalogs, data quality, and glossary
• Financial services / insurance domain experience
• Master Data Management / Reference Data experience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to break down complex data solutions and work effectively with stakeholders
