Job Description

In joining TomTom, you will be a Data Engineer in our global Reporting, Analytics and Data Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to delivering the most current, accurate, and detailed maps and location services for millions of drivers and users globally, supporting the advancement of autonomous driving. The Reporting, Analytics and Data Engineering team operates on a global scale, focusing on developing cutting-edge data products and services that provide comprehensive insights into map production efficiency, quality, and coverage.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop and maintain data pipelines ensuring efficient data processing and storage.
  • Contribute to data engineering projects using SQL, Spark, Hive, Kafka and Databricks.
  • Support big data architectures and Azure Lakehouse implementations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into technical specifications.
  • Implement optimization techniques for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Resolve engineering challenges and identify risks and improvements.
  • Provide high‑quality, maintainable and well‑documented solutions.

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of experience in Software Development with focus on Data Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Python, Scala, SQL, Spark, Hive, Kafka, Databricks.
  • Understanding of modern big data architectures and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with analytics, monitoring, code deployment and system scalability.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

What's Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, CI/CD.
  • Background in cost‑optimization and cloud data engineering.
  • Background as a DevOps Engineer
