Job Purpose

• As a Data Engineer at Knight Federal Solutions Inc, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems that support our intelligence operations. Your role is crucial in ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of data, which is vital for informed decision-making within our organization. You must hold a TS SCI with CI Poly clearance to work on sensitive projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement data architectures that enhance data accessibility and utility for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Design and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure efficient data flow and transformation.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data systems for performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with data security protocols and maintain data integrity across all systems.
• Document data processes and solutions for future reference and training purposes.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data infrastructure.
• Work closely with IT and cybersecurity teams to safeguard data assets and mitigate risks.

Qualifications: Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Required Experience

• Must hold TS SCI w/ CI Poly clearance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record of working with large-scale data systems and architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
• Previous experience in a government or defense-related environment is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
• Ability to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques is advantageous.
