About Entain

There's nothing like a career at Entain. We're a leading, global sports betting and gaming company and we're upping the excitement and increasing player safety. We're a FTSE company with iconic brands including Ladbrokes, Coral, BetMGM, Eurobet and bwin, and we have an energy that drives us to perform at the height of our potential. Whether you're an engineer, marketer or retail specialist, a career here is a complete game changer.

Job Description

This is a hybrid role. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable, resilient data solutions that power analytics, marketing effectiveness measurement, and decision-making across Entain's industry-leading digital brands. You'll work at the heart of our data ecosystem, creating the platforms and datasets that enable teams to generate insights, optimise performance, and drive commercial growth.

Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, you will be part of the Group Analytics Data Engineering Team, who build and maintain the data products and infrastructure that support analytics, econometric modelling, marketing optimisation, and regulatory reporting across the business. Working closely with analysts, data scientists, econometricians, and marketing stakeholders, you'll help deliver robust data solutions that improve budget allocation, campaign performance, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.

Data and Analytics play a transformational role in how we create value today and shape our future. We have a bold ambition to become a world-class data and analytics organisation, helping our teams make smarter decisions and deliver better outcomes for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that combines deep technical expertise with real business impact, working on large-scale data challenges that directly influence how we invest, grow, and innovate. If you're passionate about building high-quality data products and want to help shape the future of data-driven decision-making at Entain, we'd love to hear from you. Could this be your next challenge?

You Will:

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines, transforming complex internal and external data into reliable, business-ready data products.
  • Develop and enhance data quality frameworks, monitoring and validation processes to ensure accurate, timely and trusted data.
  • Partner with business, marketing and technology teams to translate requirements into effective data solutions and challenge assumptions where needed.
  • Contribute to solution architecture and technical design, owning delivery from discovery through to implementation and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with central data, platform and engineering teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, datasets and tools, increasing efficiency, reliability and business value.
  • Communicate technical concepts and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Champion engineering best practices in testing, observability, documentation and maintainability to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
  • Evaluate new data sources, technologies and approaches to expand analytical capabilities and shape the future data landscape.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, helping define requirements and deliver pragmatic solutions where processes and ownership models are evolving.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Strong experience building and maintaining data pipelines using SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms, ideally Snowflake, or alternatives such as Databricks, Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery, or Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience developing cloud-based solutions, with AWS preferred, or equivalent experience in Azure or GCP.
  • Familiarity with data transformation and ELT frameworks, ideally dbt.
  • Experience implementing data quality, testing, monitoring, and observability solutions, with tools such as Monte Carlo.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools, preferably Prefect, or alternatives such as Airflow, Dagster, or Azure Data Factory.
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures, distributed data processing, and large-scale data platforms.
  • Experience with source control and CI/CD practices, ideally using GitLab, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Podman, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, warehousing, and analytics engineering best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Entain

About Entain

Welcome to Entain.

Our journey as Entain began when we evolved from GVC Holdings on 9th December 2020, but our brands have been paving the way and making history since the 1880s.

Today, we’re one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming entertainment groups – a FTSE 100 company that is home to more than 25 widely recognised brands, such as bwin, Coral, Foxy, Gala, Ladbrokes and partypoker.

But that’s just the beginning. We’re constantly broadening our horizons and expanding our global influence. For example, our partnership with MGM Resorts International has allowed us to make waves in the US by powering BetMGM with our bespoke and top-of-the-line technology.

It’s with this unique technology that we’re revolutionising our industry, and we’re boldly working towards being THE world leader in sports betting and gaming. Really though, it’s the people that truly make us who we are. There’s over 30,000 of us around the world and counting, but we all play for the same team.

We’re proud to promote a culture that shatters barriers to unite, and encourages uncompromised diversity of background, thought and experience. When we win, we win together.

If you share our values and want to be part of the revolution, we want you on our team. With offices across 19 different countries, we have an excellent history of identifying and nurturing the finest talent on a global scale. We’re all about putting our customers at the heart of the action and, with us, you can help bring moments of excitement into people’s lives.

At Entain, it’s your game. We’re ready to play – are you?
