Technical delivery specialist for data engineering. The individual combines the technical credibility of an experienced Azure Data Engineer within the central Data Engineering team with a focus on delivery coordination and execution support, enabling successful delivery of strategic technical initiatives. They understand the technology sufficiently to identify delivery risks, facilitate discussions, and support informed decision-making across the data platform landscape.

This role combines hands-on knowledge of Azure-based data platforms, Databricks, data integration, and software delivery practices with project coordination and stakeholder management responsibilities. The Delivery Coordinator serves as a bridge between engineering teams, platform teams, product stakeholders, and management, ensuring technical initiatives are properly scoped, prioritized, tracked, and delivered.

The ideal candidate is a technically credible data engineer who understands the complexity of modern data platforms and can effectively coordinate delivery activities across multiple teams and workstreams.

Role:

• Coordinate the delivery of data engineering initiatives across multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Support project intake processes, ensuring requests are properly understood, documented, prioritized, and tracked.
• Support roadmap planning and backlog management with Engineering Managers, Engineering Leads, and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate sprint planning, delivery reviews, dependency tracking, and execution follow-up.
• Monitor progress against commitments and escalate delivery risks, blockers, and dependencies when required.
• Ensure project milestones, timelines, and deliverables remain visible and aligned across involved parties.
• Support delivery commitments through effective coordination, communication, and follow-up activities.

Background:

• Experience in ETL development, data warehousing, CI/CD, code design, and data modeling.
• Experience with Azure platform and tools: Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Key Vault, VMs, Blob Storage, etc.
• Experience with database and data storage technologies: SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.), ACID operations, data lakes, Delta Tables, Unity Catalog.
• Experience in scripting and engineering development using PySpark, Python, R, etc.
• Experience with Agile delivery frameworks: SCRUM, SAFe, project management methodologies.
• Familiarity with data architecture concepts and solution design principles.
• Familiarity with project/program management practices.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management.
